A chapter that feels more like you
9 September 2026| Learn About Me| Using your account | 3 min read
There are phrases your family would recognise anywhere. A particular way you describe a difficult day. The small joke you put at the end of a serious story. An expression you grew up hearing and still use without thinking.
When you read a chapter about your life, those details can matter as much as smooth sentences. You want the writing to feel familiar to you and to the people who know you.
Personalised writing style in Learn About Me uses examples from your completed answers to help guide the wording of generated chapters. Your memories and meaning remain the starting point, and you remain the person best placed to judge the result.
Your own writing provides the examples
You do not need to put on a more formal voice when answering a question. The expressions, sentence patterns, and humour in your original writing give the experience something personal to work from.
The writing-style profile looks at patterns such as vocabulary, sentence flow, emotional expression, formality, cultural expressions, and the way you tend to tell a story.
For example, you might usually explain a moment plainly, then add a quiet observation at the end. Or you may tell a story through the things people said. Recognising patterns like these can help guide how a chapter is worded without asking you to choose a label that somehow describes your entire personality.
See what has been understood
My writing style lets you inspect the patterns the profile has picked up. You can see how many answers were used and when the profile was updated.
Reading it gives you a chance to consider whether those descriptions feel familiar. It may notice your direct wording or your tendency to add context before getting to the main event. That can be interesting in itself: we do not often stop to think about how we tell things.
A profile needs a completed chapter with enough original writing, followed by successful processing. One short answer is not enough to promise that it will be ready. If yours is not available yet, continue sharing your answers naturally and check the availability information in your account.
Use it alongside your chapter preferences
When personalised style is enabled, the profile guides generated chapter wording alongside your chapter preferences. This is optional help with written expression, rather than an exact imitation of you.
It does not clone your spoken voice or assess your personality. It also does not apply a chapter rewrite to standalone stories that you have written as-is in Tell It Your Way.
Your existing chapters and downloaded books do not change automatically when a profile becomes available or your preferences change. Think about the style you want before generating or recreating the next chapter, then review that version on its own merits.
Read for meaning as well as familiar phrasing
When the chapter is ready, read it with two questions in mind: does this sound comfortable to me, and does it still say what I meant?
Check names, relationships, and the details that make the memory yours. There are checks intended to protect quotations during rewriting, but those checks do not guarantee that every fact or interpretation is correct. Your reading still matters.
If a chapter needs another memory to make the meaning clear, guided writing has room for additions and revisits, subject to your package allowances.
Before your next chapter, view My writing style and review your chapter preferences. Then give yourself time to read the result and decide whether it feels like a way you would want your story told.
