Tell It Your Way

Start with the memory you feel like telling.

You do not have to begin with childhood or know where the whole story is going. Tell someone about the moment on your mind, in your own words, with a little guidance whenever you want it.

One calendar month · No card required · Eligible verified accounts

Separate from guided Life Story. After the trial, access becomes read/download only; paid annual access is needed to continue writing.

Four simple stages

From a memory to a story of your own

  1. Choose your access

Check trial eligibility in the app or review the current annual offer. Guided Life Story access is separate.

  2. Begin with a memory

Start with your own writing, one photo or an optional question.

  3. Develop and review your story

Use optional guidance within your allowances, return to drafts and finish when you are ready.

  4. Keep it or bring it into a book

A finished story can stay in your library or be included in a book. Review the contents before requesting a new download.

Some stories already have a beginning

A photo that brings an afternoon back

Who was behind the camera? Why was everyone laughing? Start with one photo and the details you remember.

The family story only you can explain

Share how a tradition began, where a familiar saying came from, or what happened before the part everyone knows.

An ordinary moment that stayed with you

A neighbour’s kindness or a conversation on the way home can help someone understand a little more about you.

Give the memory a little room to grow

Begin wherever you like

Start with your own writing, an optional story idea, or a question. You can also begin from one uploaded photo or an eligible photo already in your guided writing. There is no fixed chapter sequence to follow.

Use help when it feels useful

Optional prompts can help when you want a little direction. You can use a question of your own, too. Your memories and meaning remain yours; assisted guidance has allowances.

Come back when there is more to say

Add passages in manageable pieces and keep several stories in progress. A clear title helps you find the memory again when another detail comes to mind.

Choose when it feels ready

Read your passages and finish the story in your library when you are happy with it. You can edit later; choose Update story when those edits should become the finished version.

A story can stand on its own

Keep a finished story in your library, place it in an existing chapter, or include it as a standalone piece in your book’s Stories section. You choose what belongs together. A photo used to begin a story is not automatically included in the book.

Review your book contents before requesting a new version. Earlier downloads do not change when you edit, and preparing a digital book does not order a printed copy.

Try a story before choosing annual access

The free trial gives an eligible verified account one calendar month to explore Tell It Your Way, with no card required. Previous trial use or paid or complimentary Tell It Your Way access can make you ineligible. The app checks your account before you confirm activation.

When the trial ends, you can read and download; continuing to write needs paid annual access. You can review the current annual offer in the app. This trial is independent of the guided Life Story Prologue, and a guided package does not include annual Tell It Your Way access.

Initial annual purchases and each renewal include a 30-day full money-back guarantee from payment, with no story-count condition. The free trial does not reduce this window. Paid access ends when refunded, without the ordinary expiry finishing period. Statutory rights are unaffected. Read the refund policy.

A few things you might be wondering

Does annual access include a money-back guarantee?

Initial annual purchases and each renewal include a 30-day full money-back guarantee from payment, with no story-count condition. The free trial does not reduce this window. Paid access ends when refunded, without the ordinary expiry finishing period. Statutory rights are unaffected. Email support@learnaboutme.co.za with your order details, or request a refund in the app where available. Guided Life Story access is separate. See the Terms for the full policy.

How is Tell It Your Way different from guided Life Story?

Life Story offers themed chapters and questions to help you explore your life with structure. Tell It Your Way lets you begin an individual story with a memory, your own writing, or an optional idea or question. The two approaches have separate access conditions; a guided package does not include Tell It Your Way annual access.

How does the free trial work?

Eligible active, verified accounts can explicitly start one free trial lasting one calendar month. No card is required. Sign in or create an account through the trial entry page, then confirm activation in the app. This is separate from the guided Life Story Prologue trial.

Who is eligible for the trial?

You need an active, verified account. Previous Tell It Your Way trial use or paid or complimentary access can make you ineligible. The app checks your account and explains the access available to you; changing your email or sign-in method does not create another trial.

What happens when the trial ends?

Your trial access becomes read/download only. To continue writing, you need paid annual access, which you can choose in the app. The no-card trial does not automatically become a paid purchase. Guided Life Story access is separate.

Do I have to use prompts or finish in one sitting?

No. Begin with your own words, use an optional idea or question, and return to stories in progress. Assisted guidance has allowances, including during the trial. Finish a story when it feels ready; later edits become the finished version when you choose Update story.

Can I start from a photo or include a story in a book?

You can begin from one uploaded photo or an eligible existing photo. Including the photo in a book is optional and starts switched off. A finished story can stay in your library, go into an existing chapter, or appear in a separate Stories section. Review the book contents before requesting it; earlier downloads do not update automatically. Physical printing and shipping are not included in these choices.

Which memory would you like to tell today?
