Quick Reassurance

What most families want to know first

It is giftable and easy to begin

With a guided Life Story gift, you buy the plan, the recipient receives access, and they start with the free Prologue chapter rather than a blank page.

The final outcome is a real keepsake

Guided chapters can become a digital book in PDF format that can be downloaded, shared with family, or printed later if you want a physical copy.

There is support and purchase confidence

Guided Life Story packages include a 30-day money-back guarantee if fewer than 3 chapters have been completed, including the Prologue, and support is handled by tracked email ticket.

Learn About Me and guided Life Story

Can I buy Learn About Me as a gift?

Yes. You can give a guided Life Story package to one person, with thoughtful questions and room to share their memories. You are not expected to write on their behalf. Tribute brings together contributions from family and friends about someone. Tell It Your Way is a separate individual-story option; its annual access is not included in a guided gift package.

Who is Learn About Me best for?

Learn About Me is for people who want to share more of themselves and families who want to know someone better. Guided Life Story suits someone who likes themed chapters and questions. Tell It Your Way suits someone with a particular memory to tell, with optional guidance and room to return.

What does the recipient actually do?

A guided Life Story recipient explores themes such as childhood, family, work, values, and turning points. They can change unanswered questions, skip for later, and revisit eligible memories. Answers become chapter drafts for the writer to review. Tell It Your Way uses a separate workspace for individual stories and has separate access.

Do they need to be a good writer?

No. Guided Life Story gives someone questions and themed chapters to help them begin. Tell It Your Way lets them start with a memory in their own words, using optional guidance if helpful. Neither requires polished writing before starting.

Can they go at their own pace?

Yes, within the access period for the option you choose. Guided Life Story packages offer different amounts of time for chapters. Tell It Your Way offers annual access, or a one-calendar-month trial for eligible accounts. You can return to unfinished stories while you have writing access.

Can I try Learn About Me before choosing a paid plan?

There are two separate trials. Guided Life Story begins with the free Prologue chapter. Tell It Your Way offers eligible verified accounts one calendar month with no card required. Previous Tell It Your Way access can make an account ineligible. After that trial, access becomes read/download only; paid annual access is needed to keep writing.

What role does AI play?

AI helps the experience feel more thoughtful, not less personal. It asks follow-up questions based on the storyteller's answers and helps shape those answers into clearer chapter drafts. It does not replace the person's memories, write the story on its own, or turn Learn About Me into a ghostwriting service. The voice and substance still come from the storyteller.

What do we receive at the end?

Guided Life Story brings reviewed chapters into a digital book you can download and share. Tell It Your Way stories can remain in the library or be placed in a book. Review the contents when requesting a new version; previous downloads do not change automatically. Physical printing and shipping are not included.

Can I include photos?

Yes. In guided Life Story, photos can support your memories. In Tell It Your Way, you can start from one uploaded or eligible existing photo. Including that photo in a book is optional and starts switched off.

How do Life Story, Tribute and Tell It Your Way differ?

For one main storyteller, Learn About Me offers guided Life Story and individual stories through Tell It Your Way, with separate access. Tribute is the group option when several people want to contribute memories, messages, and photos for a shared reveal.

What languages are supported?

Core experiences currently support English and Afrikaans, so families can use the language that feels most natural to them.

How much does it cost?

Guided Life Story packages start at R299 once-off. Tell It Your Way has separate annual access; see its current offer in the app. The guided gift options are Moments, Memories, or Legacy, depending on how much space and time you want to give the storyteller.

Do you offer a money-back guarantee?

Paid Life Story packages include a 30-day money-back guarantee if fewer than 3 chapters have been completed, including the Prologue. Paid Tribute packages include a 30-day money-back guarantee if no contributor invitations have been sent. Initial annual purchases and each renewal include a 30-day full money-back guarantee from payment, with no story-count condition. The free trial does not reduce this window. Paid access ends when refunded, without the ordinary expiry finishing period. Statutory rights are unaffected. Email support@learnaboutme.co.za within the applicable window. See the Terms for the full policy.

How do I contact support?

Email support@learnaboutme.co.za and we will open a tracked support ticket for you. That is the best route for access issues, billing questions, or help choosing the right Learn About Me path.

Is my data secure?

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used and protected. Read it alongside the Terms before sharing personal stories.

Tribute and contributors

How many contributors can join a Tribute?

Small: up to 5 contributors. Standard: up to 10 contributors. Large: up to 20 contributors.

Can contributors submit photos and messages?

Yes. Tribute supports guided written memories plus photo contributions from friends and family.

Do Tribute campaigns include reminders?

Yes. Reminder support is built into the campaign flow so organisers can collect more responses before deadline.

Does Tribute include a reveal page?

Yes. Tribute includes a shareable reveal experience so the final keepsake can be unveiled meaningfully.

Tell It Your Way and its free trial

Does annual access include a money-back guarantee?

Initial annual purchases and each renewal include a 30-day full money-back guarantee from payment, with no story-count condition. The free trial does not reduce this window. Paid access ends when refunded, without the ordinary expiry finishing period. Statutory rights are unaffected. Email support@learnaboutme.co.za with your order details, or request a refund in the app where available. Guided Life Story access is separate. See the Terms for the full policy.

How is Tell It Your Way different from guided Life Story?

Life Story offers themed chapters and questions to help you explore your life with structure. Tell It Your Way lets you begin an individual story with a memory, your own writing, or an optional idea or question. The two approaches have separate access conditions; a guided package does not include Tell It Your Way annual access.

How does the free trial work?

Eligible active, verified accounts can explicitly start one free trial lasting one calendar month. No card is required. Sign in or create an account through the trial entry page, then confirm activation in the app. This is separate from the guided Life Story Prologue trial.

Who is eligible for the trial?

You need an active, verified account. Previous Tell It Your Way trial use or paid or complimentary access can make you ineligible. The app checks your account and explains the access available to you; changing your email or sign-in method does not create another trial.

What happens when the trial ends?

Your trial access becomes read/download only. To continue writing, you need paid annual access, which you can choose in the app. The no-card trial does not automatically become a paid purchase. Guided Life Story access is separate.

Do I have to use prompts or finish in one sitting?

No. Begin with your own words, use an optional idea or question, and return to stories in progress. Assisted guidance has allowances, including during the trial. Finish a story when it feels ready; later edits become the finished version when you choose Update story.

Can I start from a photo or include a story in a book?

You can begin from one uploaded photo or an eligible existing photo. Including the photo in a book is optional and starts switched off. A finished story can stay in your library, go into an existing chapter, or appear in a separate Stories section. Review the book contents before requesting it; earlier downloads do not update automatically. Physical printing and shipping are not included in these choices.
